Storm surge from Hurricane Earl

In early September 1998, the Tampa Bay area experienced a small storm surge associated with the passage of Hurricane Earl, which made landfall near Panama City in the Panhandle region of Florida. The actual vs. predicted water levels at the PORTS St. Petersburg station and the winds from the PORTS St. Petersburg station are depicted in the following figure for the 72-hr period centered around the storm surge.
