Information regarding the Indian Ocean Model

Indian Ocean Model Images
Indian Ocean Basin
GIF image files for the entire model basin.

The latest model image
Movies showing model output for the last 12 months are currently unavailable

Arabian Sea Region
GIF image files for the Arabian Basin.

Images from the model are named as follows:

where mm = month, yy = year, and n = layer number. For example; '0192_1.gif' is an image containing the model output for layer one on Jan. 16, 1992. n=0 denotes sea surface elevation.

Tracer modeling: The Indian Ocean circulation model is being used in conjunction with ocean measurements of transient tracers to simulate the penetration and circulation of CFCs into the Indian Ocean.

DISCLAIMER: The Indian Ocean model is a research product. No warranty is made, express or implied, regarding the accuracy or validity of the model results, or regarding the suitability of the model output for any particular application.
